»Dance Minor
The Dance Minor program is for non-dance majors interested in adding a dance component to their education. Dance Minors may take up to 12 credits in physical activity classes (which include dance technique classes) towards the total credits needed to graduate (120). Additional credits taken beyond that limit, although recorded, will not count in total credits earned towards degree completion.
To be considered as a Dance Minor, this is the process:
1. Register to take at least one (1) dance technique class within the Department of Dance before or during the spring semester.
2. Apply and audition in the spring of your 1st or Sophomore year. The department notifies all Chapman students when the application and audition processes begin.
3. After auditioning for the Minor, wait for communication from the department to advise of their decision of your application. This may take up to 2 weeks.
4. If you’re approved, you will need to submit a Change of Program form with the Registrar’s Office.
5. If you have additional questions, please contact the Department of Dance Chair, Professor Robin Kish, at kish@chapman.edu.
